The Project
Pelos 2 is a social initiative that promotes the pro-rehabilitation of dogs in prison by sheltering and caring for street animals. This initiative allows the insertion of prisoners into society through an active role in it, as well as support for a cause with special value in social and humanistic terms.
This initiative intends to give a positive future to two negative pasts, promoting the prisoners’ responsibility towards the cause and society, while also helping “homeless” animals to have better living conditions.
At the end of this two-way process, created based on a shared path between dog – prisoner in establishing trust and positive social relationships, the animals can integrate into society and increase their quality of life.
DTC Social, an institution composed of dedicated and attentive professionals, is the main promoter of this pioneering initiative in Portugal, working daily and actively with the prisoners for an effective monitoring and with visible results in the treatment and (re)insertion of both parties in society.
The Challenge
Given the importance of social projects and with a significant contribution to the proper functioning of society, Blisq is proud to work for the development of initiatives aimed at respect, understanding and sharing of responsibilities of human beings towards all species.
The challenge proposed to Blisq was mainly to promote this project, both in physical and online media, through content that clearly expressed the project’s goal as well as its socio-educational profile.
O Resultado
Considering that the main goal of the project is its dissemination in a broad and concise way, not forgetting its educational and informative nature, Blisq developed several communication pieces that reflect its importance through an intuitive and creative design.
For this, the brand identity was created, focusing on the visual presentation to highlight the sensory characteristics, through the relief of the fur in association with the animal cause and highlighting the number 2, to emphasize that this is a project made by two and for two. The entire graphic design and decoration of the vehicles was developed to complement the digital communication.
In addition and given the importance of online presence, a website was also developed that stands out for its usability, as well as for its pleasant, dynamic and informative content layout. In the website, we can find four distinct areas that allow us to get to know the initiative better.
In the “Adoption” section, it is possible to see which animals are available for adoption, those that have already been adopted, the physical characteristics and name of each one, and it is also possible to make a detailed search based on the desired physical characteristics by applying filters.
In the “Initiative” section you can learn about the entire project, from its objectives, design, partners, monitoring and training schemes, results, and FAQ’s.
In the “Help” section, there is a form that allows anyone to help make this a story with a happy ending by adopting or supporting one of the animals available.
There is also a section dedicated to sharing testimonials and articles that help understand the need and advantages of supporting the animal cause.
This project already has the support of numerous entities and reputable institutions and has already been implemented in 4 prisons in the country, and the organization’s ambition is to promote the initiative on a national scale, leaving its mark on each footprint.
