Viana do Castelo is European City of Sport 2023. With an amazing Atlantic coastline that offers the best conditions for the practice of water sports, the city was the honourable winner of this title.
Characterized by the will to fight and win, the people of Vianna are national references in various sports, an inspiration for the city and for all sports fans. Nautical activities have been the big bet in Viana do Castelo in the last few years – surfing, kitesurfing, rowing, sailing and canoeing have raised the territory to Nautical City, presenting all the requirements for the training and valorization of athletes in these sports.
